PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous secondary battery with high capacity and high charging and discharging cycle characteristics by utilizing the characteristic of polycarbon sulfide used as a positive active material. SOLUTION: This nonaqueous secondary battery is composed of a positive electrode using polycarbon sulfide; a negative electrode, an electrolyte using a solvent having a sulfur atom in a molecule, such as dimethylsulfoxide or sulfolane, an ethyleneoxide base solvent represented by R1 O(CH2 CH2 )z R2 , (R1 , R2 represent a 1-4C alkyl, R1 and R2 are the same or different; z is 1<=z<=14), or a mixture solvent of them, and a separator having a porosity of 60-80% in volume. The polycarbon sulfide represented by general formula of (CSx )n , (x is 0.9-2; n is 4 or more) is preferable, and a low viscosity solvent such as 1,3-dioxolane is preferably contained in the solvent of the electrolyte. |
