PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cathode panel capable of operationally disabling an electric field emission element even if the element has a defect. SOLUTION: This cathode panel for a cold electric field electron emission display device is comprised of a support body 10, a plurality of strip cathode electrodes 11 extending in a first direction, insulating layer 12 formed on the whole surface, a plurality of strip gate electrode 13 extending in a second direction and an electron emission area EA. The electron emission area EA is comprised of a plurality of first opening parts 14 and a second opening part and an electron emission part 18. First opening part extension parts 15 are provided on both ends of the first opening part 14. Total length of the first opening parts 14 and the first opening part extension parts 15 is longer than the width of the cathode 11.
