PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projection display device in which an on-screen image can be made easy to watch by suppressing decrease in the information quantity of the on-screen image to low which is caused by trapezoidal distortion correction in the projection display device equipped with an electric trapezoidal distortion correcting function. SOLUTION: The projection display device having the electric trapezoidal distortion correcting function is provided with a detection means for detecting the vertical inclination angle of the optical axis of the projection display device to the surface of a screen and a control means for controlling the display position of the on-screen image to be displayed within the screen on the basis of the inclination angle detected by the detection means.
