PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve security by considering the characteristic property of a telephone number in a security system for a computer whose power is turned on by using a telephone set. SOLUTION: A memory 114 of a power controller 102 prestores a caller telephone number and password. A comparator circuit 112 compares the caller telephone number and password of a portable telephone set 105 received through a telephone network 104 with the caller telephone number and password stored in the memory 114 respectively, and when they are made coincident, a power source part 111 of a computer 101 is started so that the computer 101 can be made available.
