<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an end face emission type organic LED element enabling a sufficient amount of light to be taken out of an end face at a low voltage. SOLUTION: The end face emission type organic LED element has a transparent conductive film, an organic LED film and a cathode deposited in order over a light guide member. The organic LED film is caused to emit light by a voltage applied between the transparent conductive film and the cathode, and the light guide member has a first surface facing the transparent conductive film, a second surface facing the first side, and a third surface formed between the respective peripheral edges of the first and second surfaces. The second surface is tilted relative to the first surface so that light emitted from the organic LED film and incident on the surface of the light guide member is guided to part of the third surface to go out as it is reflected between the first and second surfaces.</p> |
