PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image information recording apparatus where a user can select image information recorded on a recording medium as to whether the image information is to be recorded to other recording medium for edit purpose or to be browsed by having only to select a switch of the image information recorder. SOLUTION: This invention provides the image information recording apparatus provided with an image information recording means that records image information recorded on a recording medium in a predetermined form; an image information compression recording means that records the image information recorded on the recording medium in a predetermined compression form; and a recording method selection means by which the user can select as required the image information recording means and the image information compression recording means.
