PURPOSE: A method for manufacturing barrier ribs and barrier ribs and flat display device using the same are provided to avoid deformation of barrier ribs and deformation of thickness of films during the high temperature heat treatment. CONSTITUTION: A method for manufacturing barrier ribs(40) comprises a first step of forming an electrode material film(23) into an electrode pattern by forming an exposure portion(23b) to the electrode material film deposited on a substrate; a second step of forming an etching buffer film(26b) on the substrate where the electrode pattern is formed, in such a manner that the electrode pattern is buried; a third step of forming the first insulation film(27a) on the etching buffer film; a fourth step of forming the first insulation film into a barrier rib pattern by forming a barrier rib portion in the portion of the first insulation film corresponding to the exposure portion of the electrode material film; a fifth step of etching the etching buffer film in such a manner that the etching buffer film remains only at the bottom surface of the barrier rib portion of the first insulation film; and a sixth step of forming the second insulation film(30) in such a manner that only the electrode pattern is buried in the upper surface of the substrate where the electrode pattern and the barrier rib pattern are formed. |
