PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and method for eliminating polarization of an output independent of the polarization state of a polarization elimination configuration of a conventional pump assembly by eliminating polarization, especially, in the output of an optical pump assembly, related to a system and method for a polarization elimination optical amplification pump light source. SOLUTION: The system typically comprises a pump assembly (302) which presents the pump assembly output of a polarization state in which polarization- elimination is correctly performed, and a polarization elimination device (304) which receives the pump assembly output and presents an output which is polarization-eliminated independent of the polarization state of the pump assembly output. It also comprises an optical amplifier (206) which couples the output which is polarization-eliminated with a fiber segment, to establish a light signal gain.
