PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the operability by improving readability of its display and a note while holding the rigidity and a stealing intention reducing effect of a protector for a parking fee adjusting machine. SOLUTION: A flange part 22 projecting from a mouth edge part of an opening part 21 for mounting a customer service surface 11 inward the protector is formed, a transparent window 28 is bored in an upper surface flange part 27 forming the upper surface of the flange part 22, and a fluorescent lamp 31 is disposed in the rear surface side of a front plate 5 in the upper part of the transparent window 28. When the fluorescent lamp 31 is turned on with the front plate 5 closed, the light transmits the transparent window 28 to light the outside surface of a customer service surface protection part 23 so as to improve the readability of the display and the note and to improve the operability. The fluorescent lamp 31 is installed inside the front plate 5 and the upper flange part 27 (inside the protector 1) so as to reduce the possibility that the fluorescent lamp 31 is broken.
