The implant (1) is slightly curved in order to match the shape of the vertebrae of the cervical spine and has a u-shaped cross section. A multitude of openings (3) of different sizes are distributed along all three sections of the device (1), facilitating the penetration of bone cement. Small pointed tongues (4), created by punching, protrude from the outer surface of the outer sections (2) either opposite each other or alternating in position. The upper and lower end of the implant (1) are provided with rows of pointed extensions (7). Pre-determined transversal lines facilitate an easy adjustment of the length as required.
