The device has a tachymeter (1) and an associated right-angle profile tube (11) provided with internal reflectors (13), supported by a frame (10) attached to the tachymeter. The profile tube projects perpendicularly through a center console (7) and has a tubular extension (23), fitted with telescopic tubes (15), for lowering to a variable depth for viewing the entry and exit runs (5) in the drainage channel (4). The tachymeter with the profile tube rotates through 360 degrees relative to its support tripod (3).
