<p>PURPOSE: An installation method of a fuel vapor vent valve in a fuel tank, a vapor venting valve assembly and a fuel tank assembly in a vehicle are provided to cut down expenses by mounting the float operating fuel vapor vent valve to the upper wall of the plastic fuel tank with welding. CONSTITUTION: A fuel vapor vent valve(14) is formed of plastic material different from material for a fuel tank. A U-shaped or cup-shaped attachment member(36) formed of tank material is received over the valve with an upper end slotted to permit the hose fitting to extend outwardly through a slot(54) for hose attachment within the tank. A rim(50) of the attachment member is secured by welding to an undersurface(16) of the upper tank wall. The vent valve is arranged in the opening end of the cup-shaped attachment member, and the sub assembly is formed with recessing the vent valve under the rim of the cup-shaped attachment. The sub assembly is inserted to the fuel tank, and the rim is attached to the inside of the fuel tank to mount the fuel vapor vent valve in the fuel tank.</p> |
