VIRTUAL CONCATENATION TRANSMISSION METHOD AND DEVICE

A virtual concatenation transmission method and device for multiplexing the traffic of a low−speed frame into a high−speed frame by virtual concatenation, to provide a virtual concatenation of high transmission efficiency. The transmission method and device waste no channel, require less work of the operator, is free from a momentary stop and require no memory capacity. A plurality of low−speed frames are multiplexed at arbitrary positions in a high−speed frame to construct virtual concatenation, and this virtual concatenation is transmitted while keeping the phase relation together with virtual concatenation information representing the connection state at the positions of the low−speed frames.
