An ink cartridge comprises an ink pack (21) that is pressed by air pressure to discharge ink through an ink outlet port (22), an outer shell case (20a, 20b ) that receives the ink pack (21) to allow the latter to be pressed by air pressure with the ink outlet port (22) exposed and that has a pressurized ai r inlet port (23) connectible to an air source for pressing the ink pack (21), and a pressure adjusting means (30) that is received in the outer shell case to discharge the air in the outer shell case in such a manner as to keep the pressure in the space of the outer shell case at a set value. If the set val ue of the pressure adjusting means (30) has been changed to an optimum value fo r each ink cartridge, the ink pack can be pressed in an optimum state irrespective of the air pressure from the pressurized air inlet port (23).</ SDOAB>
