The invention relates to a device for despatching items sent by mail, especially letters, comprising a wrapper, preferably made of paper, cardboard or similar cellulose-type materials, which surrounds an area for receiving at least one item sent by mail. In order to develop one such device for despatching items sent by mail in such a way that the contents, especially health-endangering bacteria, can be recognized with simple means, without reducing postal confidentiality to too great a degree, the wrapper (6) optionally contains another area (11), in addition to an address window area (7), which is used to enable the wrapper (6) to be looked into. Said other area (11) is adjacent to an edge (10,12) of the wrapper (6). |
