An angioplasty balloon (1) including a non-deployable stent (2) to prevent o r reduce the potential for slippage of the inflated balloon (1) with respect t o the vessel wall being treated, the non-deployable stent (2) is adapted to be secured to the balloon (1) or angioplasty balloon catheter. The stent (2) ha s a proximal end (3), a distal end (4), and at least three radially-spaced struts (5), each strut (5)connecting the proximal end (3) to the distal end (4) and having one or more bends (6) that allow expansion of the strut (5) t o accommodate the inflation of the balloon (1).
