The communications device has a receiver for reception of a location signal transmitted by a second communications device via an emergency channel, with evaluation of the location signal strength for determining the distance to the second communications device, for controlling a distance display. The transmitter of the communications device allows transmission of a location signal via an emergency channel. An Independent claim for a mobile radio receiver for reception of a location signal transmitted via an emergency channel is also included.
