The invention concerns a method for reading data of a fuel metering system for a vehicle internal combustion engine, in particular of the fuel pump or of the injector. Said method consists in associating fuel pump and/or fuel injector data to at least an electronic component, the data derived from a control unit of the vehicle being integrated when controlling said vehicle internal combustion engine, the control unit including a cylinder coordinating function.
