BRIGHTNESS ATTENUATING APPARATUS OF PLASMA DISPLAY PANEL AND METHOD

PURPOSE: A brightness attenuating apparatus is provided to be capable of preventing increase in consuming power and quality deterioration of a local region in a plasma display panel. CONSTITUTION: A motion detecting part(310) detects whether or not of a motion of input data. A duration period check part(320) checks a duration period of such a state at which no motion exists, when no motion exists in the input data. An attenuation constant generating part(330) generates an attenuation constant corresponding to a brightness level of the input data when such a state is maintained during a predetermined time. A level attenuating part(340) attenuates a brightness level of the input data in response to the attenuation constant from the attenuation constant generating part.
