<p>A slicer for binary signals is disclosed which provides soft-decision values. It comprises three differential difference amplifiers (C1, C2, C3) in bipolar technology. One input of all amplifiers is the differential received signal (Vin+, Vin-). The other input signals are derived from two threshold signals (VREF+, VREF-). As a result, the output signals of the three amplifiers (Vout) indicate if the received signal is above the difference of the threshold voltages (Vout3), above zero (Vout2) and below the inverted differential threshold voltage (Vout1).</p> |
