PURPOSE: A magnetron for a microwave oven is provided to achieve improved cooling performance by improving the shape of the yoke and radiator plate in such a manner as to overcome the temperature difference caused in the electromagnetic oscillator of the magnetron. CONSTITUTION: A magnetron comprises a yoke(1) coupled to the side surface of the control panel of the inner case of a microwave oven; an electromagnetic oscillator disposed in the yoke, and which generates microwaves; an antenna(2) mounted on a side of the yoke, and which transmits the microwaves generated from the electromagnetic oscillator into the cooking chamber of the microwave oven; a box filter(3) mounted on the other side of the yoke; and a plurality of radiator plates(4) stacked around the electromagnetic oscillator disposed in the yoke. The yoke has a width which is larger in the antenna side than the box filter side, and the radiator plates have different widths.
