<p>An elevator system includes power line carrier (PLC) interfaces associated with each hallway fixture. The hallway fixtures thus do not need separate control wiring in addition to the power lines. An interface box at the system controller converts the PLC signals to a format understood by the system controller. Communications between an elevator car and the system controller can also be passed in PLC format over the car's power cables.</p> |
