摘要

PURPOSE: Provided are biodegradable fiber, cloth and a method for controlling biodegradability of the fiber. The biodegradable fiber has physical properties durable for practical use and arbitrarily controllable biodegradation timing. CONSTITUTION: Biodegradable fiber is composed of a polylactic acid having a number-average molecular weight of 50,000-150,000, and characterized by having higher alkali dissolution rate of the inner part of the fiber than the rate of the outer circumferential part thereof and having 5-50 cracks on the fiber surface per 10 cm of the fiber length.
