PURPOSE: A screw motor is provided to move a ball screw, up and down by a ball nut rotating together with a motor core operated by an electric signal. CONSTITUTION: A rotational driving device(11) is disposed between a lower frame(3) and an upper frame(5). A screw shaft(21) is coupled to a ball nut(17) of the rotational driving device and the screw shaft moves up and down by rotation of the ball nut. A housing(31) is disposed to the upper part of the upper frame. A brake device(41), to suppress the up and down movement of the screw shaft, is disposed to a lower chamber(33) of the housing. A guide(51) and a guide rail(53), to guide the up and down movement of the screw shaft, are disposed to an upper chamber(35) of the housing. A spring(61) is disposed around the screw shaft between the guide and an intermediate plate(37) of the housing. The production efficiency is improved by the simplified constitution.
