PURPOSE: Impact absorbing structure of a headlamp for protecting a pedestrian is provided to protect a pedestrian and the headlamp by absorbing impact when the pedestrian is bumped against the headlamp. CONSTITUTION: In structure combining a mounting flange unit(10) of a headlamp to a body panel(200), the mounting flange unit is bent in an S-shape and is extended in the back side of the headlamp, and at the same time is disposed at a level with the body panel. A slot is longitudinally formed on the horizontal surface of the mounting flange unit, and an impact absorbing device(30) and a mounting bolt(34) are combined to the mounting flange unit. The impact absorbing device comprises a guide member(31) forming fixed flanges and a guide rail; a compression spring(32) fixed to the inside of the closed end of the guide member; a semi-arc guide unit curved to the other side of the compression spring; and the mounting bolt inserted in a side of the slot of the mounting flange unit and fixed to a mounting hole of the body panel by a nut. Thus, impact energy is absorbed, and a pedestrian and the headlamp are protected.
