The invention relates to a method and an apparatus in the manufacture of mineral wool for continuous weighing of slabs or groups of slabs. The weighing is made with a weighing conveyor provided with an active weighing surface. The slabs to be weighed are directed, separately or in groups, as weighing units over the active weighing surface of a weighing conveyor, and the slabs are weighed while they are located on the active weighing surface. The weighing surface is adjusted so that in normal operation only one weighing unit of slabs is located on the active weighing surface during the weighing.
