EPOXY RESIN COMPOSITION WITH EXCELLENT WEATHER RESISTANCE FOR OUTDOOR ELECTRICAL INSULATOR

PURPOSE: An epoxy resin composition for an outdoor electrical insulator is provided, which is improved in the weather resistance, the mechanical properties, and the electrical properties. CONSTITUTION: The epoxy resin composition comprises 9-59 wt% of a hydrogenated bisphenol A-type epoxy resin and a polymer/highly weather-resistant epoxy resin; 40.5-89.5 wt% of the silica where a silane coupling agent is introduced; hexahydrophthalic anhydride as a curing agent; tetrahydrophthalic anhydride whose content is 70 wt% based on 100 wt% of the curing agent; and a curing accelerator, a dispersant and a defoaming agent. Preferably the content of the polymer/highly weather-resistant epoxy resin is 10-80 wt% based on the amount of the total resins; and the hydrogenated bisphenol A-type epoxy resin can be replaced by a cycloaliphatic epoxy resin.
