Heat economy and compensation is achieved in the foundry by using the carbon produced in the decomposn. of oil or hydrocarbon gas according to the parent patent in the blast furnace. The residual hot gas is used in other parts of the plant i.e. ore-reduction stage or to drive gas turbines and produce mechanical energy.
