The back ventilation system comprises a flexible back ventilation strip with a removable cover strip and is designed to be retro-fitted onto skirting boards, cable ducts or other wall closure strips. The back ventilation strip contains slots (1) for assisting the mounting of it so that it forms vertical ventilation channels with adjoining walls at 90 deg. to each other. Each ventilation channel has a depth at least equal to 50 % of its width minus twice the thickness of the back ventilation strip material.
