To control the turbocharger (1) a sliding grid (4) is provided which opens and closes the intake ducts. At one end, it is provided with a flange (6) on which is mounted a permanent magnet (7). Facing the magnet, an electromagnet (8) is fitted which, by acting on the permanent magnet, controls the operation of the grid. The electromagnet is housed inside the turbine housing (2).
