The invention relates to a system and a method supporting the configuration of Business Object Types, more specifically supporting the use of predefined configurations of Business Object Types comprised in Business Object Patterns. In a particular realisation, the invention relates to a system for configuring a Business Object Type, which system comprising a design component for configuring the Business Object Type, the design component having access to or being provided with: a set of elements and a set of Business Object Patterns comprising one or more elements.
