PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sliding bearing capable of supporting a sliding material at a high bearing and preventing breaking of the sliding material such as a cold flow. SOLUTION: A sliding plate 11 is fixed on a base plate 10 fixed to the ground by bolt fastening. A sliding plate 12 slidably mounted on the sliding plate 11 is fixed to a plate-shaped holder 13. A lower flange 16 of a height adjustment shaped steel (binding material) 15 is mounted on the holder 13 via a rubber sheet 14 as an inclination absorbing material and a buffer. At least, one third of the whole wall thickness of the sliding material 11 is intruded in a recessed part provided in the holder 13 and a primary shape factor S of a part of the sliding material 11 projecting from the holder is set to S>=1.4.
