PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an emulsion-type pressure-sensitive adhesive which is excellent in pressure-sensitive adhesive characteristics and resistances to heat, weather, and oil and essentially contains an acrylic block copolymer prepared by aqueous polymerization. SOLUTION: This emulsion-type pressure-sensitive adhesive contains a block copolymer comprising polymer blocks (A) and polymer blocks (B). The block copolymer is prepared by aqueous polymerization in the presence of a compound having a thiocarbonylthio group. Polymer block A is formed by the polymerization of 50-100 wt.% methacrylic ester and 50-0 wt.% monomer copolymerizable therewith; and polymer block B, by the polymerization of 50-100 wt.% acrylic ester and 50-0 wt.% monomer copolymerizable therewith.
