PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tricyclo[5.2.1.0<2> ,<6> ]decane compound which can improve the refractive indexes of optical lenses and optical adhesives due to the introduction of halogen atoms, and is effective as a cross-linking agent or the like, for improving heat resistance, because of having a plurality of (meth)acryloyl groups. SOLUTION: The 3,4-dihalogeno-8(9)-acryloyloxymethyl-9(8)- hydroxymethyltricyclo[5.2.1.0<2> ,<6> ]decane compound represented by the general formula [1] Y<1> and Y<2> are each independently H or a substituted acryloyl group represented by formula [2] (R<1> is H or a 1 to 4C alkyl; R<2> and R<3> are each independently H or a 1 to 10C alkyl), provided that at least one of Y<1> and Y<2> is the substituted acryloyl group; X is a halogen atom} and the 3,4- dihalogeno-8,9-bis (acryloyloxymethyl)tricyclo[5.2.1.0<2> ,<6> ]decane compound. And methods for producing the compounds are provided.
