PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To smoothly rotate a platen roller by a small motor to realize miniaturization and reduce a cost. SOLUTION: This printer has a throwing-in type roll paper storage part 7 storing roll paper 8 to be printed. In a drawing-out route 8a of the roll paper 8 from the roll paper storage part 7 to the platen roller 12, a tangent line on a lower periphery in a winding part 9 of the roll paper 8 and a tangent line on the periphery of the platen roller 12 are connected on a straight line. The drawing-out route 8a is inclined to a direction gradually separating from a bottom face 10 of the roll paper storage part 7 as it goes to the platen roller 12 from the lower periphery in the winding part 9 of the roll paper 8. Accordingly, the roll paper 8 is drawn out with no contact with anything from the roll storage part 7 to the platen roller 12, and the small motor can smoothly rotate the platen roller 12 to realize the miniaturization and reduce the cost.
