PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mold for forming glass substrates which can inexpensively manufacture the glass substrates for disks of a shaft integral type of high accuracy in a large volume by press forming and a method of manufacturing the same and a method of forming the glass substrates using this mold. SOLUTION: A releasing film 5 is formed in the recessed part of a press surface 6 corresponding to the shaft part of the glass substrate for the disk, and thereafter this releasing film 5 is subjected to precision processing, by which the mold for forming the glass substrate having the press surface inclusive of the recessed part 4 with high accuracy and having excellent releasing properties is obtained.
