PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a latently hollow raw silk yarn having alternative twists comprising two kinds of S-twist and Z-twist having different directions of the twist and alternatively continued in the length direction in a reeling step, and forming a hollow cross section by the elution of a soluble fiber, and further to provide a method for producing the yarn. SOLUTION: False twists of low twist are imparted to a silk thread after passing a filament guide button by a Kennel-type false-twisting structure, and the false twisted thread passes each pulley. The false twists of the false-twisted thread are released when the thread passes the Kennel-type false-twisting structure again, and the thread in the twistless bundled state is wound in the conventional wet reeling step. When imparting a true twist to the twistless thread obtained thus, and providing a certain change in the length direction, the additional value must be provided by a conventional designing twisting machine, or the like, having a low productivity. This method for creating the latently hollow raw silk yarn having the alternative twists comprises using a water-soluble PVA fiber as a core yarn, imparting the two kinds of the alternative S- and Z-twists to the raw silk at once in the reeling step by a high-speed false- twisting spindle and a drying heater attached to the reeling machine, and eluting the core yarn to provide the hollow cross section part.
