摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem in conventional technique that sufficient buffer effect is not obtained because each constituent member of a constant velocity joint bumps against an end fringe of an inner curl and slide moving beyond it is regulated when a vehicle collides. SOLUTION: This power transmission device is provided with a driven shaft 3 connected with a steel pipe shaft 2 through the constant velocity joint 4 so as to rotate relatively and freely and slidable in the axial direction for the steel pipe shaft. The driven shaft is composed of a cylindrical holding part 12 holding a ball of the constant velocity joint and a pipe shaft part 13 connected with the holding part by friction welding from the axial direction. An outside diameter D1 of a seal plate 19 which is one of each constituent member of the constant velocity joint stored and held in the holding part is set to be smaller than an inside diameter D2 of the inner curl 15 generated in a connection part of the holding part and the pipe shaft part when performing friction welding.
