PURPOSE: A method for selling a lottery ticket using a credit card terminal and a sale slip is provided to use a receipt as a lottery ticket by selectively processing a credit purchase and a lottery ticket purchase, creating a lottery ticket number randomly, and returning the lottery ticket number to the terminal. CONSTITUTION: A credit card number of a purchaser is read in a terminal through a card reader. The purchase money is inputted from a key input unit(S101,S103). If a lottery ticket purchase exists(S105), a lottery method is selected(S107). A lottery ticket number is selected by a lottery ticket number generator automatically or by the purchaser through a key input unit(S109). A group and a number are inputted sequentially(S111,S113). The number of lottery tickets is decided and inputted(S115). The amount of the lottery tickets to be purchased is inputted(S117). Payment request information is transmitted to a VAN(Value Added Network) company system through a modem and a PSTN(Public Switched Telephone Network)(S119). The payment request information is interpreted in the VAN company system and it is judged whether an approval request for purchasing a lottery ticket exists. If the approval request does not exist, a credit card system determines transaction approval. If a payment is possible, an approval number is designated.
