PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface temperature sensor by which the temperature on the surface of an object can be measured precisely and quickly. SOLUTION: A thermocouple strand 2 is inserted into, and passed through, a hole passed through the inside of a cylindrical holding body 1 to be used as a grip for a surface thermometer, a heat receiving plate 3 is welded to the side of the object to be temperature-measured at the thermocouple strand 2 so as to form a hot junction, both ends of the circular part of the plate 3 comprise support legs 5 bent to a side opposite to the object to be temperature- measured, a suppression rod 4 used to press the plate 3 to the object to be temperature-measured is fixed to the lower end of the holding body 1, a protective tube 6 is arranged at the lowermost end of the holding body 1, and a spring 7 is installed additionally between the holding body 1 and the protective tube 6.
