PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a crystallization-preventing agent which can inhibit generation of cloudiness in liquid oil even within a low temperature range not higher than 0 deg.C. SOLUTION: The crystallization-preventing agent for liquid oil comprises a sucrose fatty acid ester, at least 70 wt.% of constituent fatty acids of which comprise a 16C or higher unsaturated fatty acid, and has an HLB of 2 or less and an ester distribution such that a weight ratio (A)/(B), of (A) a triester and a lower ester to (B) a tetraester and a higher ester, is 30/70 to 0/100. This crystallization-preventing agent, when added to liquid oil in an amount of 0.1-5.0 wt.%, can inhibit cloudiness caused by crystallization of the liquid oil.
