PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust emission control device with superior durability which heats or retains heat of an outer circumferential side and a center portion of a filter by exhaust gas by sending a whole amount of the exhaust gas to the circumferential side and the center portion of the filter, promotes combustion of PM by maintaining the filter at a high temperature by a heat insulating effect, and prevents erosion of the filter by preventing local high temperature due to the combustion of the PM in the center portion of the filter. SOLUTION: In the exhaust emission control device 20 having a wall flow type filter 10, an outer circumferential passage 24 is provided in an outer circumferential portion of the filter 1, a center passage 27 is provided in the center portion. It is composed so that the exhaust gas G is passed through in an order of a gas inlet passage 23, the outer circumferential passage 24, cells 11a and 11b, the center passage 27 and a gas outlet passage 28. |
