PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent external scattering of soil in a soil tank when a garbage vehicle turns, starts suddenly and stops suddenly, in a soil leakage preventing device for a garbage vehicle that prevents external leakage of soil from garbage stowed in the garbage vehicle. SOLUTION: The soil leakage preventing device for a garbage vehicle comprises a soil gutter 13 for receiving soil from garbage stowed in the garbage vehicle, the soil tank 15 for holding the soil in the soil gutter 13, and a conducting pipe 16 for conducting the soil in the soil gutter 13 to the soil tank 15. The conducting pipe 16 has vertical wall surfaces 16v and horizontal wall surfaces 16h for blocking soil flowing back from the soil tank 15 to the conducting pipe 16 to prevent it from scattering out when the garbage vehicle turns, starts suddenly or stops suddenly.
