PROCESS AND DEVICE FOR DECORATING CYLINDRICAL PACKINGS

In a procedure for continuously decorating packages (5) with curved surfaces, each package has a self-rotation superimposed on the transport path(4). The decoration is on a carrier path (7) moving with constant speed tangential to the transport path. The decoration is applied to the packages under pressure and with heat applied to the carrier path, the packages being subject to subsequent heat treatment from a stationary controlled source. The transport and carrier path directions are opposed. The package spacing has the same ratio to the transport speed as the decoration spacing has to the carrier speed. The packages are accelerated in their self-rotation to match the carrier speed.
