PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for visually and remotely informing a user of a decrease in remaining battery capacity without spoiling presentation, etc., for a battery-driven type projector. SOLUTION: In the projector 10 which is driven with the electric power supplied from a battery 42, a control part 40 controls the lightness of the illumination light emitted by a light source lamp 52, parameters used by an image processing part 20, and a projection area of a projection optical system 58 according to the remaining capacity of the battery 42 that a remaining capacity detection part 44 detects to change the display style of an image projected on a screen SC, i.e., the lightness and size of the projection image.
