PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for evaluating/inspecting a reed switch which detects a foreign substance between contacts of the switch from the switching time of its contact voltage when the reed switch turns off. SOLUTION: The apparatus comprises a noise measuring module 23 which reads the level of a voltage between contacts of a reed switch 12 inserted in an exciting coil 22, when the switch 12 turns off from on, and measures the time during which the voltage level remains between a predetermined lower and upper reference potentials, and a host computer 24 which decides whether the measured time exceeds a specified time and, if exceeding, determines that a foreign substance exists between the contact of the reed switch 12 and indicates the effect on an indicator 24a.
