PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a turbidity sensor capable of detecting simply and at low cost the turbidity of a liquid such as a turbid water. SOLUTION: With the mass of an outflow pipe 4b including the turbid water calculated from the vibration of the outflow pipe 4b during the passing of the turbid water contaminated with solid foreign matter, the mass of turbid water calculated from the mass, and the density of the turbid water calculated from the mass, the turbidity of the turbid water is derived from the density. This allows the use of a mass flow mater with a pipe in the measuring part and avoids the use of an apparatus for microwave generation or an expensive apparatus such as a device for measuring the propagation time of the microwave, and the turbidity sensor provided has its advantages in simplicity and low cost.
