PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medicine, especially a prophylactic and therapeutic agent of a disease considered to be associated with mGluR1, preferably cerebral infarction, or a therapeutic agent of pain. SOLUTION: The imidazole derivative or the pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof has mGluR1 activities, and is useful as the prophylactic and therapeutic agent of the cerebral infarction, or the therapeutic agent of the pain.
