Class 142(2) The control handle 10 of a loom, which may be duplicated at each end of the loom, is attached to a lever 11 operating a rod 30 pivotally connected to an arm 31 mounted on a spindle 32. A lever 35 also mounted on the spindle 32 engages at either end an arm 33 effecting operation of a brake band 39 under the influence of a spring 42. In one position of the handle the lever 35 raises by one end 37 the arm 33 to release the brake and at the same time operates a control switch 45 to start the loom. In an intermediate position of the handle the switch is released and the arm 33 pulled down by the spring 42 to operate the brake whilst in a third position of the handle the end 36 of the lever 35 releases the brake without operating the loom. Mechanism is provided for disconnecting the take-up mechanism when the handle is in either its intermediate or third position.</p> |
