The watchcase (1) has an open internal space (3) intended to receive a packing circle (2) of complementary profile. Housings (7) shaped as truncated cones are located at each corner of the watchcase face and corresponding housings (9) are provided at the corners of the packing circle. A metallic elastic locking element (11) placed in each of the circle housings is rotated when the circle is lodged within the watchcase to retain it securely.
